We have a large room sea-view room on the first floor which offers more room with a superking size bed and plenty of space to relax.
There is also a breakfast room which has a sitting area for use during the day with fridge, drinking water and coffee machine for guests. I am afraid there is no public access to the guesthouse as we are not a hotel, so please meet family and friends outwith. There are numerous cafes within a few minutes walk.

From the 26th of July 2026 Edinburgh City council are charging 5% tourist levy. This is included in the cost of your rooms and you will not be asked to pay a further charge when you check in. Straven Guesthouse pay this to the council
In order to make a reservation we take full payment in advance. We recommend all guests to take out travel insurance as we cannot offer full refunds for cancellations or transfers of deposits to different dates. If you have to cancel and give us 7 days notice or more before the planned arrival date we can refund the cost of the stay minus the cost for the first night of the reservation
