Straven is situated in a quiet cul de sac and has 3 letting rooms which are all peaceful for a restful nights sleep. All rooms have been recently refurbished with calm contemporary style in period rooms with high ceilings and small feature murals.

On the ground floor we have a room facing the front garden with full size double bed which is let out for single occupancy. Also on the ground floor there is a double room for 2 people with large King Bed facing the back garden. 

On the first floor there is a large room over looking the beach with a superking size bed which has all the features of our standard rooms and also a fridge cooler and a sea view.

Sorry we do not accept pets or children under the age of 12 years

Booking conditions:

The full cost of the stay is required at the time of booking and can be made via Visa Debit / Delta, Visa Credit, Maestro / Switch, Mastercard.

We work in partnership with Stripe payment system. They are fully compliant with regulations for storing and processing card details. We do not receive card details directly.

If the booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival then no refund or transfer of dates will be made.

If the booking is cancelled 7 or more days before arrival we will refund the cost of the stay, minus the cost of the first night of the reservation. Dates are non transferable once made.

We strongly recommend guests to have travel insurance. 

Sorry we do not have off road storage for bikes or motorbikes

Lead guest must be a minimum of 18 years old.

Please socialise with local friends and family outwith the guesthouse as we are not insured or licensed for public access and for security reasons only guests can use the bedrooms and sitting area. 

Due to licencing, fire safety and insurance rooms have a maximum occupancy so no pull-out beds or additional guests are permitted. This means even our single room with a double bed can only be legally let for 1 person occupancy. We cannot accommodate extra guests in rooms.

We do not have any off street parking. On street parking in a residential area only. We cannot be responsible for theft, damage or changes in parking restrictions or charges.

We do not use contact details for mailing lists etc nor do we pass them to any partner agency

We are licensed to provide bed and breakfast accommodation by Edinburgh City Council

Edinburgh City council is charging 5% levy on overnight accommodation from July 2026. This is included in your accommodation cost with Straven
